Good for learning, minor app issues

I signed up for the Annual Reading Plan for my 5-year-old. The ordering process on the website was straightforward; I used the 7-day free trial first, which was helpful to see if my child would engage. Delivery isn't really a thing for digital services, but access was immediate after subscription. The quality of the animated stories is quite good, clear narration and engaging visuals. My daughter really liked the 'Bedtime Stories' section. Support answered my email about setting up on a second tablet within 24 hours, which was efficient. Usability is generally fine, but the app crashed once or twice when switching between books. Overall, it's a solid platform for early literacy development.

Amazing content for kids!

I just subscribed to the Annual Reading Plan and it's fantastic! My little one loves the 'Interactive Storybooks'. So many stories to choose from and they're all ad-free! It's super easy to use on my tablet and phone. I'm so happy I found this for her, she asks for it every day! Definitely worth it!

Kids like it, easy to use

Signed up for the monthly thing for my son. He's really into the 'Picture Book Animations'. It was simple to get going, just a few clicks. He can navigate it himself which is nice. Seems like a good way to keep him occupied and maybe learn some words. No big complaints, it just works.

Consistent quality, returning user

This is my third time renewing an Annual Reading Plan. I keep coming back because the 'Early Reader Digital Library' is consistently updated with new content, and the quality of the 'Highlighted Text E-books' is great. It's reliable, and my children genuinely benefit from the literacy development tools. I appreciate the multi-device access, which has always worked without a hitch.

Found a good deal

I was looking for something educational but affordable for my kids. I saw the annual subscription discount for Motion Storybooks, which saved me a good chunk of money compared to monthly. It felt like a solid investment for the price. My kids are using it daily, so it feels worth the purchase.

is there a free trial for motion storybooks? don't want to pay if my kid hates it.

I Ivy K. 2 months ago
Yeah, they have a 7-day free trial. That's how I checked it out.

Definitely a free trial! Just sign up and cancel before the week is up if it's not a fit. No commitment.

I'm a teacher, do they have any special discounts for educators?

K Kevin 2 months ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about a teacher discount when I was looking into it for my school.

Yes, they offer a teacher discount. I think you might need to verify your educator status somehow, but it's available. Also, check out their school bulk options.

thinking of getting the annual plan, is it really cheaper or just like, a tiny bit?

M Mike 2 months ago
Yeah, it's definitely cheaper in the long run. I think I saved like 25% compared to paying monthly.

P Phil 2 months ago
Totally. I compared the numbers when I signed up. You save a good chunk, like 15-30% depending on if they have a special going on.

Are the books actually narrated by real people or is it that robotic voice stuff?

J June 2 months ago
Real people! It's one of the things I really like about it, sounds much more engaging.

Definitely real voices. It's not that text-to-speech stuff, which is a huge plus for bedtime stories.

how does this compare to like, Vooks? they seem pretty similar.

T Todd 2 months ago
I've tried both. Motion Storybooks feels like it has a wider variety for different ages, and the narration is really good. Vooks is fine, but this one just clicked more with my kids.

Vooks is cool but Motion Storybooks has more books, I think? And the interactive parts felt a bit better here for learning vocabulary.

Saw some Black Friday deals last year, do they usually have a sale around then for subscriptions?

R Renee Okafor 1 month ago
They usually do! I got my annual plan last Black Friday at a really good price.

Yeah, Black Friday is one of their big sale times. Keep an eye out for seasonal subscription sales too, they pop up occasionally.

can you actually use this on an ipad and also on a phone at the same time? my kids are always fighting over devices.

R Rosa 2 months ago
Yep, it works on multiple devices. My kids use it on their tablets and I sometimes put it on my phone if we're out.

R Rosa 2 months ago
For sure. We have it on two different tablets and a smart TV sometimes. Never had an issue with simultaneous use.

is this ad-free? my kid gets so distracted by pop-ups.

N Neil 2 months ago
Totally ad-free, thank goodness. My little one gets super annoyed by ads too, so this was a must-have for me.

R Renee J. 2 months ago
Yep, no ads at all. It's a clean experience, which is great for keeping kids focused on the story.
